Apocalyptic Leaders’ debut full album, Macabre, is fully unveiled today, after teasing us with two visceral tracks over the last few weeks, and a series of EPs and singles over the course of last year.
As the (one-man) band name and album title suggest, this is a grim, dystopian form of black metal, whose melodicism and grey urban pall owe something to Mgla, but it has an an industrial pulse and rocking melodicism that is all the bands’ own. A resolute steely delivery give this an intimidating character that adds to the intensity.
