Bio By She Rox All Female Bands:U.K. based No Shame, begin in 1986 by German born bassist Martie Roxan, who served as the band's original vocalist until 1987 when Jacqui Lynn was brought into take over as the band's lead vocalist. Rounded out by guitar virtuoso Tina Listo (Wood), and drummer Liz Watts, they quickly fit into the big hair, glam metal craze of the late 1980's. The band released it's first single in 1987, It Could Be You/You're So Cool before drummer Liz Watts would leave the band and was replaced by American drummer Stephanie Leigh. No Shame found themselves sought out by famed Glam Rock producer Ric Browde, known for his success with the bands Poison and Faster Pussycat with the intent to make No Shame the female equivalent to the male bands dominating the current hard rock music scene. Relocating to the states in support of their major label release in 1989, \"Good Girls Don't Last\" on CBS records a deal that guitarist Tina Wood secured while still based in the U.K. No Shame did gain a solid U.S. fan based even though all female hard rock bands were still quite a novelty during this time on L.A's famed Sunset Strip, only a small handful were able to break the doors down on the all male sleazy club circuit, No Shame being one of the few. While some critics were quick to lump No Shame into a Vixen type clone band, they were far from such, and offered a gritty raw edge that proved the band could hold their own as easily as their male counterparts. The full length release, Good Girls Don't Last, a true rocker from start to finish was creating a buzz in the music scene, and with all the songs written by the band members themselves, and at a time when many of the successful male glam rock bands were not actually writing their own material, only furthered the fact that No Shame was the real deal. The album received positive reviews and gained new fans who were in search of an all female hard rock band, that actually rocked! No Shame unfortunately disbanded not long after their one and only full length album, leaving fans at a lost and to wonder what could have been from this talented group of women that should and could have easily reached the heights of many of the other bands during this era of music. Guitarist Tina Wood would provide her guitar skills to Phantom Blue before rejoining drummer Stephanie Leigh both of whom would continue to work together in various projects, most notably, the long running all female AC/DC cover band ThundHERstruck. Vocalist Jacqui Lynn and Martie Roxan would resurface in the early 1990's in the all female rock band Mini Skirt Mob, that would release several singles during the early to mid 1990's. Lead vocalist Jacqui Lynn, aka Jacqui Jordan would later front the band Dragbeat, while bassist Martie Roxan would join the all female band, Bellatone with ex-Pandoras drummer Sheri Kaplan. No Shame's one and only album, even almost 30 years after it's release it's a sought after collector's item that has proven that it's popularity has far surpassed what it may not have achieved in 1989.Tina Wood-Guitar,Jacqui Lynn-Vocals,Stephanie Leigh-Drums,Martie Roxan-Bass
