Milk is among the best Japanese private press funk/soul albums ever released. The female duo of the same name consists of Rie Miyajima and Ritsuko Miyajima. They released this album, their first and only one, in 1987 on J&L records. What used to be a private press has now become a grail among collectors. An original copy will cost around US$500.
Rie Murakami is a mystery singer who like Milk, had only released one album, and it goes for as much as the Milk LP, around 500$. When the other tracks on the album are not very attractive, these three tracks are what really stand out. The original album is extremely rare, despite being released on VAP, a major Japanese label. There is also no information on Ms. Murakami on the web since she just disappeared in the music industry after the release of the album. I wonder where these disappeared Japanese artists went to.
