\"I am King of my own archives, for crates are my throne and music is my Crown\"
MonarchivaRmx blends classic '90s hip hop flavors with the attitude from today's industry. The Canadian-Dutch MC/producer McGyver uses his both beats and lyrics from his debut 'Monarchivaris' (2014) to create a lyrically deeper and much matured revisitation.
This album shows that digging deep in ones own mind, matter and music allows for new creative insights, profoundness and development. It takes boundaries to overstep them, just as it takes a box full of records to go outside it.
McGyver describes this work as an interactive piece of music. Whereas musically the album entertains the lovers of traditional boom bap hip hop, conceptually it is one giant Easter Egg for the listener to discover and unravel. It is hence advised to first take a good listen to the predecessor of this album, Monarchivaris, which was released in 2014.
Hide and seek, come find me: Dig deep.
