Recorded April 20, 1946, in Carnegie Hall, New York City, on American Columbia matrix XCO 36176, immediately following the same orchestra's recording of Khatchaturian's \"Gayne\" Ballet Suite. Issued late in 1948 as Columbia Masterworks 12881-D, coupled with Shostakovich's Waltz from the film score \"The Golden Mountains.\" The piece is originally for military band; here it has been orchestrated by Efrem Kurtz.
