This Detroit-area group hit it big in 1967 with \"In The Midnight Hour\". The Wanted, from Gross Pointe, Michigan, consisted of Tim Shea, Arnie DeClark, Dave Farmstrom, Bill Montgomery and Chip Stalmar. The song was originally recorded on \"The Detroit Sound\" label, then later picked up by A & M Records. The song did exceptionally well around the midwest, peaking at #1 on WKNR-KEENER 13 in Detroit, and #5 on powerhouse CKLW in Detroit, in March of 1967. The group appeared numerous times around the Detroit-area nightclubs, and even appeared on TV's \"Swingin' Time\" with Robin Seymour. The song was written by Steve Cropper and Wilson Pickett, and by some, is the best version of the song by this garage-rock band.
