A couple of years after The Beatles split up John Lennon was asked by an interviewer if the Beatles would ever get back together again and record a new album.
By this time John had become a little tired of being asked the same question over and over again.
He replied by saying that the splitting up of The Beatles was really no big thing and that it was just a rock group and nothing that important.
However he suggested to the interviewer that if people really needed The Beatles that bad they had all the old records to play and reminisce with – if that didn’t suffice then John had a theory that all people had to do was listen to the music himself Paul George and Ringo were making separately and take tracks from his albums and from Pauls and from Georges and from Ringos, mix them altogether and it would be just like a new Beatle album!
Whilst recording their last album together EVEREST was considered as a title for ABBEY ROAD and The Beatles considered flying to the foothills of the Himalayas for a photo shoot before it was noted that the zebra crossing outside the studio was nearer.
So as an experiment all these notions were put into a big giant Beatle pot – stirred together - put in the oven and baked for an hour at 180 degrees to see what would happen!!
Well here is the result = EVEREST = The Beatles album that was always there, but never was, and now is!
Was John Lennon’s theory right?
Have a listen and see what you think.
It’s just a bit of fun folks – but please comment with your reactions.
