Well, Pookie had to post this one because it's one of my faves for years and years. This song just grows on you, and i always find myself putting it on the table. From 1967 on Chess, this record seems to define the soft soul side of this great Chicago Soul singer. A song written by guitarist, Kermit Chandler, and produced by Don Talty. Jan Bradley possesses a voice so feminine and soulful, it can take you away in a heartbeat. Her star doesn't shine nearly bright enough. The great photo of Jan was taken by Phil Upchurch in 1965. Thanks to Jan for sending it along to Bob Abrahamian, DJ at Chicago's WHPK FM 88.5. He was kind enough to email that to me, and I'm thrilled to include it on this vid. Check out Bob's show 'Sitting In The Park' on Sunday nites at 7:30 CST. You can stream it, and the music and interviews are super! And of course, thank you Jan Bradley for some of the Sweetest Soul to come out of the Windy City. Enjoy one of the Pooksters faves.
