DROP THERAPY - In Memory of Time (Full Album Stream)

Playing Next: Eric Clapton - No One Else - Part 1 - Live Germany 1983 - Bootleg Full Album
Random Page  /  Random Album

This album is not only a tribute to the amazing works of The Caretaker, but to my grandmother, who I have recently been informed has six months left to live as of writing this. The album follows the structure of Everywhere at the End of Time by the Caretaker:

STAGE 1:

Stage 1 is likely not quite noticed. At this point, it's nothing more than simple memory loss, most likely attributed to simply being old.

1. Something of a Calming Memory (0:00)

2. I Remember Your Relaxing Smile (3:28)

STAGE 2:

By this time, memories are a lot harder to recall and detail is lost. The patient is aware but in denial in most cases. Overall mood is lower.

3. Something is Off as the Days Pass me By (5:55)

4. The Hollow and Unusual Sorrow we Don't Recall (8:54)

5. You Know What's Next (12:44)

STAGE 3:

This is the last stage of the disease where the patient is aware of things like their present location or other things on that level. The last moments of the aformentioned awareness are spent as tasks continue to grow in difficulty.

6. To Me, Recollection is Hollow and Slipping (13:14)

7. Ahead, Memories Fall (17:37)

8. This Bliss Provides a Hollow Comfort (20:57)

9. It Was a Dream (25:39)

STAGE 4:

Post-awareness. Dreams are often confused for reality and memories become intertwined. Only the most integral parts of the patient's life are remembered as the anterograde

amnesia consumes further.

10. It Wasn't a Dream (28:15)

11. It Wasn't a Fucking Dream (32:11)

12. Where are the Kids? (36:15)

13. I Didn't Know I had a Grandson (40:13)

STAGE 5:

Effects of the last stage are amplified as fits are thrown and false family members are conjured up within the patient's mind. Those who have been with the patient prior

to symptoms have a hard time dealing with the minimalized individual they bear witness to. Symptoms slow as the patient abstracts further into a husk-like state.

14. Pandemonium (42:01)

15. Hospice Care (52:21)

STAGE 6:

The patient enters a vegetative state. If they are capable of remembering anything, the memories most likely come and pass in their mind. By this time, there is almost

definitely a predicted amount of time the patient has left to live.

16. Untitled (split into two parts for the bandcamp release) (58:56)

EPILOGUE:

It's a dominant gene. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

17. In Memory of Time (1:16:20)

The thing that kinda scares me is that my mom was adopted, so I have to wait another 20 years at least to see if she develops symptoms before I can make a judgement on how the last 30 or so years of my life will play out.
