CASSIDY PARIS
As a teenager growing up in Australia, there’s likely very few others out there with ambitions of being a “rock star”. Especially considering rock music isn’t exactly regarded by the mainstream as the “coolest” thing in the 2020’s. 17yo Cassidy Paris however is an exception. Delivering an infectious brand of high energy rock, with a catchy melodic edge, Cassidy is determined to make rock music a ‘cool’ thing again and inspire a new generation of younger fans to not only listen to rock ‘n’ roll, but maybe even pick up a guitar, instead of a phone.
Having been raised on classic hard rock & metal and being inspired by female rockers such as Avril Lavigne, Joan Jett, Pink, Pat Benatar and Lzzy Hale, even at age 15, Cassidy was determined to deliver a message through her music. In 2018, Cassidy released the single Stand, a heartfelt account about ‘standing up for yourself’ as a young woman. Cassidy continues to deliver that message, promoting anti-bullying through performances at many schools around Melbourne and is an active campaigner for the ‘Metalheads Against Bullying’ organisation.
The Broken Hearted EP released in 2019 gave Cassidy the opportunity to work with some legends of the melodic rock scene in Paul Laine (Danger Danger, The Defiants) and Andy Shanahan (Roxus). Combining classic influences with more recent artists like Chvrches, 5 Seconds Of Summer and H.E.A.T, she’s ready to make her mark with her own brand of rock, with a catchy melodic edge. Walking On Fire off the EP indeed made a mark, being shortlisted as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition of 2019, whilst lead single Song For The Broken Hearted won Best Pop Rock Song at the Akademia Music Awards in Los Angeles.
Speaking of “international”, Cassidy also has international performances to her name, having played acoustic dates in Tokyo, Japan in late 2017 and solo shows in the United States in 2018, juggling the commitments of being a high school student, with life on the road. With rockstar chic and an infectious personality, Cassidy is a natural when it comes to performing live. You can also be sure that Cassidy will be the first one to the merch desk after the show, loving nothing more than meeting and connecting with her fans, something that she fully appreciates the importance of from having met her idol Taylor Swift at age 8yo and more recently guitarist Nita Strauss (Alice Cooper).
