Bestial is Purgatory's sophomore album, released 1 year after their debut. On Bestial, although they kept most of their German influences, their death metal sounds a tad more American-ized. The runtime also got a major cut, going from the massive 54 minutes from the debut to a much fairer number of 38 minutes. This easily translates to a more concise album, less filler and a more direct approach to the music. They also changed the production a bit, since the guitars arent as shriek-y and high pitched as they were in the debut, theres much more low end and the bass is now audible more often. That paired with the addiction of much more skank beats and drum fills adds up to another really good piece of old school putridity.
