All the Sounds of the World - Deep Listening - Musician, Pauline Oliveros
Public art can make a city beautiful. But more than that, it can represent the city's cultural identity and become the site of communication for citizens.
The Anyang Public Art Project, APAP, has been helping public art fulfill its purpose since 2005. The 2014 APAP's theme is \"Public Story.\" It will exhibit a variety of works and performances by about 30 teams from Korean and abroad.
One of them, Pauline Oliveros, has sparked interest even before the APAP opens.
Oliveros is a renowned composer and a leader in the world of modern music.
She's also the creator of a concept called Deep Listening. She uses her whole body to listen to all the sounds that we usually fail to notice.
This is Pauline Oliveros's first visit to Korea. And Deep Listening is about to enter the sphere of public art in Korea.
