Psychedelic Elevator Music. That's exactly how some kid in the crowd described the Jacky Giordano sound at a New Year's Eve party after hearing him for the first time. I still struggle to think of a better description. Although the title of the album bears the artists name, information on Mr. Giordano is borderline nonexistent. Try searching Google images for \"Jacky Giordano\" and the closest we get is a picture of his label mate and partner in crime Bernard Fevre. It's an interesting dynamic when one can't visualize the face of the artist being listened to; attention is completely focused on the music itself, and there is an air of mystery about the whole affair.

Unlike many other library music releases that feature intensely repetitive themes, almost every track on \"Organ\" features solos. Not your average solos either. We're talking about the mindblowing multi octave organ variety. Listening to this album feels like walking in on a jam session from the 1970's. On many songs the organ is double or triple layered, with overdubs allowing Giordano to perform melodic call and responses. The way the record is mixed is interesting to say the least; almost all of the high frequencies are removed from the drums, leaving the organ piercing through the mix with great effect and the bass guitar thumping on the low end. Only five hundred copies of the record were pressed; to get your hands on an original copy expect to pay upwards of 250 bucks. Thanks, internet.
