Gym Class Heroes - Greasy Kid Stuff (2000 Full Album)

Playing Next: KAMIKAZE SETAHUN SELEPAS (2000) FULL ALBUM

You either die a hero or live long enough to put out some really mediocre radio hits.

GCH had the latter fate. Up until about 2006, they were raw as hell, though. Formed in Geneva, NY in 1997, Gym Class Heroes started out as a totally genius genre-melding project fronted by rapper Travis McCoy. With their music, they have shown their appreciation for everything from hip hop to punk rock to emo to... Hall & Oates. This record is maybe not what our ~400 loyal subscribers are expecting, but all of y'all should listen anyway. Shit is good.

The GREASY KID STUFF CD, has been kicking around on my laptop since about 2008 or 2009, and was self-released in 2000 by GCH. A lot of these songs were re-purposed & re-recorded in 2001 for GCH's debut (and also weirdly hard to find) studio album \"...For The Kids,\" but these versions are slightly different. If I remember correctly, \"Swing Joint\" and \"No Woman No Cry\" are the only tracks exclusive to this album.

I'm not entirely sure that this is the actual and complete tracklisting of Greasy Kid Stuff; it's compiled off of what I found and fact checked with the little information about this record that exists on the internet, but it's as accurate as yr gonna get it for now, unless someone finds an original CD and proves this wrong. I also just found out that this CD had any cover art whatsoever tonight (For 10+ years, I had assumed that, like GCH's first CD, Hed Candy, it didn't -- that said, this cover art may or may not be original).

TRACKLIST (track times coming later):

1. This Thing Called Life

2. Oh My God

3. Crab Apple Kids

4. A Song For Noah

5. Swing Joint

6. Pig Latin

7. No Woman, No Cry (Live Cover)

I'd say to support the artists and buy this but they're already probably millionaires and this CD & ...For The Kids are long out of print. I would encourage y'all to check out any of The Papercut Chronicles (2005) if yr into this, though.

If you are a GCH fan that found your way to our mostly punk rock channel looking for this record, sup! There's more where this came from. Message me if you're looking for any links. Also: I don't have (all of) Hed Candy, but PLEASE get in touch if you do!!
