The first half of the 80s was dominated by speed and power metal bands that grew up to challenge the power of thrash metal. Among all the more or less famous bands I must mention the very good Abattoir from Los Angels, because with only two albums they were able to attract the attention of speed metal fans all over America and Europe. Soon, these two albums became iconic due to their rarity. The first of these two was called Vicious Attack and came out in 1985. This album can even be seen as a kind of EP due to its short length, but instead the band recognizes it as a regular album. All in all, this is another very good speed metal album from the best period for this genre, and it is recommended for those looking for sincere music at a time when technique and excessive speed seem to be the only important elements.
