Fantastic Plastic Machine (FPM) is a Shibuya-kei (Hipster or Indie music scene in Japanese 90s) by Tomoyuki Tanaka. I was introduced to FPM by Last.fm similar artist feature. I think I was browsing for Pizzicato Five.
This is the first FPM album. In early of his career, he focus in Lounge Music which is a combination of Jazz, Classic and Disco. However, in the end of Shibuya-kei, FPM has transited their music style to House.
In recent years, he has produced music for films and plays. He just released new songs under his real name “Tomoyuki Tanaka” in April and May 2020.
