Detroit-born American composer and saxophone player (1940 - November, 1998).
Peter Van Riper has been a graduate of the University of North Carolina, and continued in arts at Tokyo University, and the University of Michigan.
Van Riper has performed extensively in Japan, including a USIS tour, in the U.S. at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and at And/Or in Seattle, and in New York City at St .Marks Church, Experimental Intermedia, The Kitchen Center for Music, and The Museum of Modern Art. Notable collaborations include performances with Simone Forti, Eugenia Balcells, and Sha Sha Higby.
