As a teenager he put his first record out on Macola Records (same label Dr. Dre got his start from in 1989). By 1992 Vell was considered the coldest rapper in the city along with partna Zeno who together they formed The Drunx, first rap group ever to pattern there rap style around the bottle. In between 89 and 92 Vell had gained a few industry friends who saw vell as the next to blow, LL Cool J, Biz Markie, Cool V & Kurtis Blow all agree that Vell is definately one of a kind. By 1993 Vell was living in Los Angeles when he met a kid named Rick Aaron who later became Vells manager and walked him into a major deal worth half a million dollars in which ninety thousand went to Vell from another hip hop icon Rick Rubin. He made history in Kansas City Mo for being the first hip hop artist to go National with major videos produced by Marty Thomas who Co directed the movie Forest Gump. At this point he was becoming unstoppable with the main stream and underground in his hands. Vell returned to Kansas City in 97' .By 98' Vell did a joint and ventures with local Record Label called Cd Game Related Rec. By 2001 Vell had K.C on hush when released the album Big Boom Theory.
