The second Plum Creek Rhythm Section album, Thesis, is a concept album about control. It was written alongside my actual master's thesis. In order to rise to the monumental challenge of writing a thesis, I had to make some drastic personal changes, which brought its own set of challenges. On the one hand, my newfound sense of responsibility and discipline brought me great academic and professional success. On the other hand, it brought with it abundant anxiety and neurotic behaviors. In the end, I had to learn how to relinquish control when things were out of my hands, a lesson that did not come easily. This album chronicles these many successes, struggles, and lessons.
The cover art is a map of Sarasota County, FL, the study area for my master's thesis. The map is a figure from my actual thesis.
