Any proceeds from this release will go towards helping Dandelion Records and Emporium rebuild their business after their building and inventory was damaged in a fire on October 22. As well as being champions of local artists, Jeff and Laura at Dandelion brought in music of the most esoteric and adventurous kind. Any time I'd hear about some forgotten or unjustly ignored record that had recently been unearthed, Dandelion would inevitably have it sitting in their bins when I went looking for it. The music I bought there over the years—by artists like Popol Vuh, Heldon, Sensations' Fix, Cluster, Harmonia, Fumio Miyashita, and others—has been a massive inspiration for the music I make, especially the 9 tracks featured here.
OTHER BUSINESS:
This is the synthesizer-based album I've been wanting to make for a while...it just took some patience and persistence to find out what kind of shape it would take. I sorted through hours of drones, modular patches, noise box doodles, Mayne Island shed experiments, and practice space jams to arrive at this collection. I hope these disparate sessions all make sense mashed together like this, and that you enjoy the sounds.
