Kasbek (Volkslied) (A Russian/Georgian Folk Song) - Juri Orlowski (russ. ges.) mit Balalaika-Orchester Jean Davydoff, Telefunken Musikus ca 1935 (Germany)
NOTE: To my regret I was not able to find anything about a Russian singer named Juri Orlowski who lived and recorded in Germany, in the 1930s. Probably, he was a member of large \"white\" Russians colony that dwelled in Berlin ever since they had abandoned in 1917 Tzarist Russia, right in the beginning of the Bolshevik revolution. As anti-communists, White Russian immigrants were treated by the Nazis as their natural allies and therefore their social status in Third Reich was not so, as to make them leave Germany after March 1933 (when, in result of the national voting National Socialist Party seized power in Germany). Unfortunately, the record is not in a good shape, however the song is so BEAUTIFUL!!! that I decided to upload it (after quite a hard job was made to make it audible at all; notice how wornout is the label!).
Among my mother's piano sheet notes there was also a \"Kazbek\" containing Russian text as well as its Polish translation, and she sometimes played that truly beautiful and also a little weird melody.
