The New Society take baroque pop to a whole new level. The cover photo of them dressed ridiculously in Renaissance clothing is not a joke. They seriously wanted to merge baroque culture with rock culture...Which they call \"barock\".
The music really isn't bad. Its typical baroque pop/rock with lots of electric guitar and harpsichord. Plenty of folk is on hand as well. If I was to compare them to anyone, I'd say they're like all those west coast sunshine and folk bands like: The Mamas & The Papas, Jefferson Airplane, New Christy Minstrals, etc
