At saturday I was working at the fleamarket close to here, before opening up I always take a tour to see if someone have bringed 78rpm, and yes among others I found this rather rare recording. The orchestera T.O.G.O (The original green orchestera) was one of the first swedish orchesteras trying to adopt the new modern rythem in the twenties. It was formed 1924 by young students (one of them Sven Arefeldt only fifthteen, shold be one of the greetest orchester leader in Sweden) . They was playing at differnt restaurants but also at crusies with M/S Gripsholm wich also was going for US where the band member could find even more influenses. They did their first recordings in 1928 for HMV (four records), and this must be one of them, after, they where contracted by swedish Imperial and did a lot of recordings. The orchestera was a sort of semiproffesional orchestera and many of later wellknown swedish musicians have pased trough T.O.G.O before they get known . The orchestera was led by Claes Levijn and was working with different member still until 1950
