Mid- century Basie like arrangements highlighted by a couple of extended pieces with a more modern jazz lean. Some great talent used on these sessions including Sahib Shihab (a personal favorite), Bill Evans, Zoot Sims, Clark Terry, Thad Jones, Milt Hinton, Freddie Green, Osie Johnson, Joe Newman, Gigi Gryce, many others. Could have been a classic given the lineups, not bad as it is.
