Originally a 3-piece, co-founders Brett Pearl (vocals/guitar) and Matt Cramp (drums) have been flying the Arrowhead flag for over 10 years. The departure of original bass player Dave Lopez in 2015, saw the band recruit their current bass player, Arron Fletcher, previously from The Alohas. In January of 2019 after the completion of the band’s third studio album, Coven of the Snake (due to be released this year) the guys added a second guitarist to add another dimension to the sound. Raff Iacurto has been welcomed into the Arrowhead brotherhood to complete the current line-up. His previous bands’ include legendary stoner rockers Thumlock and more recent outfit The Dirty Earth. The band have developed a cosmic connection and are blending together effortlessly in their pursuit to redefine their sound in today’s musical landscape.
Arrowhead have honed their song writing craft over the last decade and continue to conjure up new and powerful music. Brett Pearl’s creative vision has synthesised their sound with original visual art to create a true expression of their ethos. The band have released a self-titled EP (2009) and two full-length albums, Atomsmasher (2013) and Desert Cult Ritual (2016). Both albums received highly acclaimed local and international exposure, which led to signing with California based record label Ripple Music. Ripple Music have recently released Desert Cult Ritual on vinyl and are preparing to release the band’s third studio album, Coven of the Snake, in 2019.
On the live front, Arrowhead have shared the stage with Monster Magnet, Unida (featuring John Garcia), Earthless, Samsara Blues Experiment, Greenleaf, Acid King, Sasquatch, The Atomic Bitchwax, Dave Tice’s Buffalo Revisited, Kadaver, Cough, Devil Rides Out, Blues Pills, SOTIS and Daredevil, just to name a few. If you love your classic albums and artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Sleep, Clutch, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, and Fu Manchu, you will want to add Arrowhead to your playlist.
