Little is known of this album. Originally a Japan-exclusive release, Solo is a live album recorded at Iino Hall in Chiyoda, Tokyo on May 29, 1973, and released on the Trio label. Either way, \"Solo\" captures Taylor at the peak of his creativity as a musician and live performer, showing him already maintaining an unheard of mastery of the piano, musical ideas darting like sparks from his fingertips.
