This song was introduced on-screen by The Brox Sisters in the 1930 movie “Spring Is Here,” First National’s film adaptation of the same-named 1929 Broadway musical. “Cryin’ For The Carolines” was one of several new Harry Warren tunes that supplemented the few Rodgers & Hart songs retained from the stage version. Lanin’s recording was also issued on other labels under multiple pseudonyms.

From 78rpm Diva 3083-G - Crying For The Carolines (Warren-Lewis-Young) by Sam Lanin & his Orchestra, vocal by Irving Kaufman, recorded in NYC January 3, 1930
