This album follows the story of a samurai whose master is killed by a fellow samurai in his clan. He makes a vow to avenge the life of his master and goes on a journey in search of his fellow clansman. On this journey he travels for two weeks through mountains into the country side questioning anyone he sees on the way about the whereabouts of his master's betrayer gathering clues. His investigation leads him to a small city in which he has heard his target has been laying low. In this city he meets a beautiful woman and immediately falls in love with her. They spend a few days in blissful paradise together. At this point our protagonist has almost forgotten his feelings of vengeance as they have been replaced by true love. He arrives from town back to his new love's minka (home) only to find that she has been murdered by the same antagonist who murdered his master. At this his feeling of rage have multiplied tenfold and he renews his vows to avenge his master along with avenging the lost life of his true love. He tracks down his old fellow samurai to an abandoned dojo and a chase ensues until they reach a clearing in a forest. Under a full, pale moon their duel commences. It is the hardest sword fight either of them have ever been involved in, and although both have been injured our protagonist kills his enemy, fulfilling his vows of vengeance as the duel's victor. However, afterward he is left with a feeling of empty sadness. He spends the rest of his days traveling the country as a lone ronin, searching for inner peace and spiritual enlightenment.
