One year after \"Abstract 1\", here is the next stage. These tracks were made at different points throughout 2020. You probably know all of them from before, because I released them as singles. Anyway, delving into the weird world of internet music, I found new sounds, different sounds to use in my ambient music. This year, I think, my production skills got better and I used musique concrete techniques to make most of the sounds you hear on this album.
Quite possibly even more minimalistic than \"Abstract 1\", this record's goal is to bring your attention to the timbre, the intricacies of the droning, noise and ambience across its 4 tracks. Oh right, four tracks, this thing is even longer than the first one! 80 minutes babyyy.
Influences? The Japanese band Boris had a huge impact on \"spume\". The whole aesthetic of that thing came to be while listening to their album \"Flood\" all the way back in January lol. Summertime came, and along with it obscure independent music from ambient/electronic/vaporwave artists on YouTube and Bandcamp. While I spent most of that time period working on \"I Don't Remember My Last Trip Into the Void\", I came across this underground little music category called \"deathdream\". Having already explored the concept of making a soundtrack to your dreams on IDRMLTITV, I tried peeling it back, stripping the music of its narrative and story and leaving nothing but an ominous ambience to serve as the background to dark visions, dreams, nightmares. \"ocean\", \"empty\" and \"alone\" were based around this idea. Plus finding material for the single covers was fun.
Anyhow I hope you enjoy this de facto compilation of all my ambient experimentation from 2020. And if you want, you can check out each individual track on its own single release, if you want a singular download. Idk. 2021's gonna be crazy and I hope \"Abstract 3\" is going to turn out even better than its two predecessors. Happy holidays and a great 2021!
