\"The Sheik of Araby\", a popular song from the early 1920s was inspired by the Rudolph Valentino film The Sheik.
The tune was frequently featured by British dance bands in the '30s as part of a medley of '20s tunes. Out of the twenty one versions of the song only seven are from the 1920s. As far as I'm aware this version was the only one to feature a vocal, sung by Jack Charman.
I have slight reservations concerning the lines...
\"At night when you're asleep, into your tent I'll creep\".... Notwithstanding, that sentiment I hope you will enjoy the opportunity to hear an original period vocal of this classic song.
Recorded c. March 1922.
