Here's my video game fusion cover of Hornet from Hollow Knight ft. Emily Gelineau, Sammy Dussias, and insaneintherain! I'm Sab and I love saxophone and video games, so now I make covers that combine two of my favorite things!

A week late, but totally worth it! I spent A LOT of time fighting Hornet in Hollow Knight and I really loved her theme! Good thing to, considering it took me 20 tries or so haha!

I knew I wanted to cover this tune and after learning it on piano, I started to hear it come together with specific people in mind! Emily and Sammy are amazing musicians I've gotten to work with over the years when I play at Berklee! And of course a huge thank you to insaneintherain for laying down the bass and bari stuff!

I wanted to push myself with this arrangement. I never really do prog sounding stuff and after playing in some fusion ensembles this year, I wanted to try and channel that into a cover! I love the natural hemiola part in the tune and wanted to play on that in the solo sections by changing it to 7/8 because I could haha!

I had so much fun getting to watch this cover grow and flourish! Each time I got a new part, I was so excited!
