Formerly member of the US Navy personnel serving on the USS Ticonderoga based in San Diego, California. Influenced by the Beach Boys, the group recorded demos which ended up with Phil Spector at Valiant Records, a subsidiary of Warner Brothers, who signed them up and changed their name from \"Thurdernotes\" to \"The Cascades\". Best known for their 1962 song \"Rhythm of the Rain\".
