Charted at #20 on Billboard Hot 100 in September 1956. Original Billboard review: \"Draper sells a folk-type novelty with solid showmanship and tongue-in-cheek humor. The tune is a funny take-off on the old gag about the house with a railroad track running through it. Milton Berle has cut the tune on Coral and Vaughn Monroe for Victor, but this platter is the one to beat.\"
The version by Vaughn Monroe charted at #11 in September 1956 and was his last big hit. In the UK, the song charted at #20 for Alma Cogan in November 1956.
