After more than two decades of sound research, the Swoboda brothers find a completely new form on Expositions. On a sinusoid where first Thing and then Columbus moved from dense noise to airy minimalism and back again, Expositions is situated somewhere near the axis of symmetry: guitars of noise origin melt into drone landscapes and repetitions with austere samples woven into live drums methodically building a living tissue of musical emotions. On Expositions, the duo from Gdansk tackles sonic matter like never before. Their heritage of experimental electronics is reflected in the innovative treatment of texture and ambient inspiration translates into spatiality of compositions.
