Hal Kemp cut his first recordings in London in August 1924, where he was playing an engagement at the Piccadilly Hotel. This Columbia 3446 was the third of six sides, sadly not released in this country. Back home he recorded little until early 1929, but a high proportion of his output was several cuts above most dance bands of the day
