Happy birthday, Deltarune! Last year you took the internet by surprise and we all were super excited to play the new story Toby just dropped out of nowhere. I can't believe it has already been a year. To celebrate, I made a second Field of Hopes and Dreams remix! (technically 3rd but that was a fusion for a raffle lol)
So this one was an experience. I wanted to go for a Trance vibe this time because the last one was a Disco-like remix. Yeah I don't know what my thought process is either. I guess because the last one was more of an acoustic kinda remix I wanted to go for a more electronic one this time so it's at least new in a sense that it's a different spin. Not to mention I really put in my all last year so trying to top it this year would be nearly impossible, but I am pretty happy with how this one turned out.
This one was a nightmare to mix. As many problems in creative fields go, once you fix a problem with something, another problem pops up in its place. If I thought the pianos were too quiet, I fixed them, now that saw melody is too loud, so I fixed that, all of a sudden I can't hear the pad chords in the background, so I fix that. Change after change and it was like I was chasing a wild goose lol.
Regardless, I got it to a point where I was happy overall with the big picture. I can definitely speak for a lot of people (artists, musicians and Audio engineers alike) that we tend to find problems in places where there might not be any so we tweak and tweak driving ourselves mad until we're like \"OK THATS ENOUGH ITS DONE\" xD
I'm very happy I was able to get this mix up to 6 minutes long. A weird thing I tend to think about that I'm sure not many people really care for is length of the song. It just feels like an accomplishment if I can take something that is short and simple like a 2 minute video game ditty and turn it into something big and complex like a 6 minute trance remix.
