One of the year’s surprise record hits was this chart-topping theme from the Carol Channing Broadway musical, as performed by 62 year-old jazz legend and government-sponsored musical goodwill ambassador “Satchmo” Armstrong. Unlike this hit 45 single version, the common stereo reissues add what appears to be a subtle string background presence at the 9-12 second point of the opening passage.
