Cheater Jones --- brings to mind the local card shark, a penny-ante crook waiting to hit you with the latest scam, right? Wrong!
Cheater Jones is a great group comprising of four extremely well-matched musicians who have a passion for complex rhythms.
They describe their music as a \"salad bowl\" --- complementary ingredients are mixed, rather than blended, to form a delicious musical delicacy.
Band members Jim Zimmerman (guitar/lead vocal), Ron Setzer (bass/vocals), Sam Johnston (keyboards/harmonica/vocals), and Steven Schupsky (drums/vocals) have known each other since high school.
Cheater Jones is in its glory while performing in front of a live audience and say they hope never to lose that spontaneity and energy from it.
Originally the band just called itself Cheater, but, not wanting to be associated with a punk band of the same name, tacked Jones on the end after a late club date. The band wants to try putting a little integrity back into today's music by influencing current pop music.
