SIMONE SIMON: THE SONGS OF TAHITI HONEY (1943)

Playing Next: Nothing But Thieves - Believe (Mumford & Sons cover in the Live Lounge)
Random Page  /  Random Song

[PLEASE READ] The cat womans rending claws become velvet paws in her canary role of Suzie Durand in the 1943 film TAHITI HONEY. The movie is a real clunkerworth every wince and more that supporting actor Lionel Stander (in character as Pinkie) gives the plot materialbut Simones pert, cute, and sensuous appeal is the diamond in the rough. Yes, that is her own singing voice.

Most of the songs featured herein were written by the composing team of Lew Pollack (noted otherwise for the hit Charmaine and others) and Charles Newman (noted otherwise for, say, the hit Six Lessons from Madame La Zonga and others).

I am hoping the exposure this rough-cut video enjoys on YouTube will someday spark professional interest in the digital restoration and subsequent releaseeven as streaming contentof TAHITI HONEY.

IMPORTANT: This is a video sampler of goodwill and great admiration. Thoughtful comments and/or questions are welcome. If you are a professional and want credit I've neglected to give OR prefer that I delete this video, please contact me and it will promptly be done. Thank you.
