There is some information that I am desperately seeking in regards to the Tragedy Pop subgenre. There is an audio sample that is jokingly used in several 1950s/ 60s car crash/ tragedy pop songs...an extremely brief clip of someone moaning in pain that often accompanies additional car wreck sound FX. This moaning clip is heard in everything from Condition Red by the Goodees to Nervous Norvus' Transfusion (at the beginning of each chorus) to Jan and Dean's Dead Man's Curve. The clip is also heard at the beginning of the Signal 30 driver's safety film (which is where I had assumed that it originated). But I recently noticed that the clip is also included in a 1952 episode of the Inner Sanctum radio show entitled \"Strange Passenger\" which predates Signal 30 by nearly eight years. Can anyone give me any information on this mysterious audio clip and how and where it may have originated? Thanks in advance, Daniel (whitegardenia1955@gmail.com)
