Based on request, here is a cover story to go with Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess \"Midna's Theme\". I also put in Midna's Lament too.
A few days ago, I requested in my community tab something a little different. Many artists take music requests, but since I tell cover stories along with the cover, I challenged people to also share the story for the songs they were requesting. There was a comment from None of Your Business ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkXlaLRP-ycF9Q_eyJNhJWA ) recommending that I do a cover of Midna's Theme investigating the relationship between Midna and Zant.
I was REALLY happy that so many people recognized that I am a sucker for diving into the lore about villains. I often like to think about the motivations for villainy -- what makes them tick? In investigating for this story, I had to read up a lot on Zelda lore -- especially the convoluted timeline. I ran into some issues with trying to piece together the story (namely, who are the Interlopers who became the Twili?), but that actually gave me a good plot device for the story...while people have speculated about who the Interlopers are, most of the theories don't work for one reason or another...so I went with the speculation that the Interlopers are a multicultural society of the criminals of the light world.
I then hypothesized that over hundreds of years, the Twili people lost their identities as distinct tribes and became something else...and yet, I could imagine that some people would still want to distinguish themselves, to believe themselves better than others because of their ancestry or heritage.
I am really grateful for the Zelda subreddit. I made a thread there asking if my story concept made sense, and the user /u/Sableprince wrote some great comments to help me confirm that I was on the right track.
ANYWAY, this was a great success. I would definitely love to take more requests of this type. If you aren't already aware, my Discord server now has a room to discuss lore and speculation so we can workshop these sorts of things.
