𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙉𝙤𝙩𝙚

‘Improvisation’ is the fundamental key to my performance. I’ve always yearned for imperfections, something so rough and raw. As Hesse said, I wanted only to live in accord with the promptings which came from my true self. Why was that so very difficult.

Piano is one of the mediums that express music. Music is a means of expression.

This is to unravel my absolute consciousness as well as the existence of potential subconscious mind.

I am not a pianist nor a musician. I am solely a human being trying to communicate.

Your words and actions are music, therefore music is your words and actions.

𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙉𝙤𝙩𝙚

‘즉흥’은 나의 연주의 핵심이다. 나는 늘 다듬어지지 않은, 완성되지 않은, 날 것의 질감을 찾아왔다. 헤세의 말처럼, 나는 내 안의 그것을 살아보려고 하였다. 하지만 그것이 왜 이리 그토록 어려운 일이었는가?

내게 악기는 음악의 표현 수단이다. 음악 또한 표현을 위한 창구이다. 모든 것은 ‘나’라는, 하나의 절대적 의식, 그리고 무의식의 잠재성을 가진 존재의 발현을 위한 것이다.

‘나’라는 존재는 단순한 악기 연주자가 아니며, 뮤지션으로서 살아가지 않는다. 오로지 자아를 가진 주체로서 살아가며 표현한다. 말과 행동이 음악인 것이며 음악이 곧 말과 행동인 것이다.

“나는 추상화가가 아니다. 색이나 형태 같은 것에는 관심이 없다. 비극이나, 운명, 인간 본연의 감정을 표현하는 것에만 관심이 있다.”
