1954 HITS ARCHIVE: If You Love Me (Really Love Me) - Kay Starr (original Starr version)

If You Love Me (Really Love Me) (Parsons-Monnot) by Kay Starr, orchestra and chorus conducted by Harold Mooney

Introduced in 1950 by Edith Piaf as “Hymne a l’Amour,” the English-language “If You Love Me” was one of summer ‘54’s hottest ballad hits. For Kay, it was a two-sided success with the (also posted) flip “The Man Upstairs” reaching the top-10 as well.

THE 1954 HITS ARCHIVE - here in one place, a good-quality library of original-release-version best-sellers and songs that made an impact that were either released or enjoyed a major chunk of their popularity within the calendar year 1954 (some were recorded in 1953).
