Captain Zen Blue has roamed through space doing nothing but completing petty missions for years. Mission after mission he loses more and more motivation, sinking deeper into depression by the year. This year has been the worst, as he is reminded that the love of his life disappeared just 30 years ago. Now he goes throughout his existence as if he doesn’t exist. He doesn’t leave his ship, nor does he communicate with anyone. He simply completes his missions and reports to the Commander.
Now, this Lost Soul must complete a new mission. This mission starts as any mission would, He gets the orders and begins immediately. Only something strange is happening this time. A powerful energy source seems to be emitting powerful waves of energy and the Captain is to inspect the source. As he nears the strange energy, Zen Blue falls unconscious and is approached by something who seemingly wants to help the Lost Soul.
This project is a mixture of Synthwave, Experimental, and binaural beats. The purpose of the project is to help people experiencing grief and internal pain, and to cure the deep depression they experience. I want to show people that in order to heal, you must first learn to live with your pain.
P1(1-6): This is the part of the story where the Captain drowns himself in the negative feelings he experiences in an unhealthy way. As the story progresses, you get sense that the joy and happiness of the songs disappears, and they get more and more sad. Toward the end of P1, you see that the Captain finally gives up on trying to feel good about himself and accepts the fact that he is lost.
P2(7-17): This is where the story takes a huge turn, but seemingly for the better. The Captain arrives to the location where he meets a spirit that guides him through the pain. As the songs progress in this section, they get more and more unbearable and each song gets scarier and more painful, until you finally learn to live with the pain. The transition in song 15 shows that you finally reach a place where the pain just sits there and even though it's always going to be there, it is no longer hard to feel these emotions.
In the end, Captain Zen Blue is able to complete his mission and he was allowed to see his soulmate one last time before accepting the fact that she truly is gone forever.
