Here are my top three pole dance tips for your aerial invert:
1 - BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION
Before you can master your aerial invert, you need to have a strong basic invert from the floor. Exercises such as knee tucks are a great way of conditioning for your invert. Focus on lifting into your invert rather than jumping or kicking.
2 - KEEP YOUR HANDS LOW
Keep your outside hand on the pole at forehead height, and inside hand at cheek height. It's much harder to invert when your hands are too high up the pole. A low hand position makes it easier to pull your bodyweight up as you invert.
3 - START WITH YOUR HIPS IN FRONT OF THE POLE
It is much easier to invert (both aerial invert and invert from the floor) when you start with your hips in front of the pole. You can invert from a position where your hips start behind the pole, but it's usually harder. There are a couple of ways to get your hips ahead of the pole from a climb - both are shown in this video. See which you prefer!
Good luck with training your aerial invert on the pole.
