The original softer, all-acoustical master, recorded in March 1964 and titled “The Sound Of Silence,” had been included as a track in the duo’s debut LP “Wednesday Morning, 3AM.” This remixed single release added overdubbed electric guitars, bass & drums, plus much heavier reverb.
