The Micah band was formed in Terre Haute (Indiana) in the summer of 1971. Then the guys moved to New York State, where they performed mainly in the northern part of the state, and lived in Albany.
The group quickly attracted the attention of fans with its powerful organ-guitar progressive.
Talented musicians gained recognition and were offered a contract with the Sterling Award Records in New York.
I’m Only One Man was recorded at the end of 1971. The music on the first side of the record was recorded live in a quadraphonic studio in New York for one day without rehearsals and without any interruptions.
The musicians were so good that the studio's sound engineers did not do any takes.
A freaky organist, juicy intersperses of jazz and not very strong guitar, strong melodies in minor keys, a decent vocalist who does not pull a blanket over himself, but allows other musicians to turn around in instrumental parts - all this cannot leave a true progressive lover indifferent.
The album also has a very tasty Latino flavor, which only gives it additional charm and charm.
The music and performance are very reminiscent of “Atomic Rooster” - the same frantic Hammond, a very similar composition structure and even a vocal manner in the same spirit.
Unfortunately, this New York team left us only one disc and, as is often the case with good American bands that are not commercial-minded, broke up in 1974.
