Suddenly we're at our 30th release! It's funny how time flies.
Speaking of \"Time\", Albert Einstein said “Time is an illusion”, while Andy Warhol once wrote “They say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself”. But of all musing about Time, I like the author Marthe Troly-Curtin’s quote best that “Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time”. When it’s 6am and you’re stood in a forest somewhere unknown - the sun coming up, and you’re surrounded by friends, while electronic rhythms vibrate through you, shirtless, twisting your body as though participating in some sort of ancient tribal neon ritual. Yeah, that’s when you really get it.
The track “Time” by New York based artist Monolithic, is an expansive inducer of vibe. A luscious slice of clangin’ housewerk that captures the listener in its mix of swirling pads, IDM riddims and warm jets of bass. Somewhere in the fog, a female siren emerges, calling out “All I Need Is Time. All I Need Is Time. Make This Feel Right” - drawing you in, closer and deeper. And much like that magical 6am rave hour, you lose yourself in the moment. Time enjoyed, indeed!
