The Rite is an all-instrumental, guitar-driven progressive metal album inspired by the famous \"Rite of Spring\" by Igor Stravinsky. You'll also hear a lot of extracts from Alfred Hitchcock's \"Vertigo\", hence the title track (n°7). It is built as a \"circular concept\", even though the tunes do not share any particular meaning or tonality; the ending is the beginning. Recorded day and night for three weeks straight, using a chinese TS copy and a little 15 watt Laney as a preamp monitored raw to avoid latency issues, it was undoubtably the most painful experience I have ever put myself through as of now ! Welcome to my nightmare :)
