White Manna - Dune Worship (2013) Full Album

\"Once again, in a year chock full of great psych albums, comes yet another which further stakes it's claim as one of the best. Building on from their previous, self titled, album, White Manna return with a free for all psych workout built around riffs, riffs and more riffs with the added bonus of plenty of space effects. In short this is the best Hawkwind album you will ever hear.

Comparisons aside, Dune Worship is an album which requires a full sitting. You can't dip in as the songs take their time to build into a wall of noise and take you on your journey. This is psych rock at it's finest and it gets very loud.

The demonic riff of ‘Transformation’ with swirling effects counts us down as we blast off into White Manna world. Demented and loud, it rolls along at a fair pace as the instruments build into one suitable crescendo. It doesn't stop there though as ‘X Ray’ carries the good work on into outer space.

If there is one thing to lay at White Manna's door its a tendency to sound the same throughout. ‘Illusion of Illusion’ breaks the mould and slows us down a bit but it's not long before the Krautrock riffs kick in once again. As ‘Ascension’ signals the second half of the album you may find yourself looking for something solid to set your ears on. If this is the case, then psych may not be for you, be prepared to lose yourself in the cavalcade of noise which White Manna produce.

They may not have managed to cement their awesome live power onto disc yet but this is the closest they have come. It's one to be sunk into and treated with respect as riff after riff collide in a miasmic swirl. It may hurt your head after a while but by god, it is fun. If loud and out there is your thing, White Manna may be just the band for you. Excellent stuff and another fine addition to the psych school of 2013.\" - By Martyn Coppack at Echoes And Dust(http://echoesanddust.com/2013/11/white-manna-dune-worship/)
